Before

Turkey Club is the most recent phase of Turkey Saddle, one of Grounded’s earliest projects. The pandemic highlighted the owner’s need for outdoor recreation spaces to gather safely with family and friends. Climate change and environmental stewardship also encouraged the family to take the site off-grid.

As with the previous phases, all facilities are accessible to everyone regardless of age or ability, and the design language works in harmony with the existing topography. A new pool and pool pavilion continue the existing chain of buildings that wrap the slope overlooking the Moorman’s River.

Working with Formwork and Ace Contracting, Turkey Club includes a concrete terrace and year-round geothermally-heated pool. The pool's shallow end pierces an entertaining space created between two pool pavilions connected by a dogtrot roof. A solar array for the new pool and existing site further transitions the property off-grid. This project is under construction with an anticipated completion date of November 2022.
