After a renovation of the interiors, the owners turned their sights to a complete overhaul of the exterior. Working within an existing framework of flagstone walkways and terraces, the courtyard transformed into a noteworthy entry with the introduction of a linear planting scheme that played off the architectural lines of the facade. Limestone cubes provide sculptural interest and offer places to sit within the walled garden. From the courtyard, the house and its gardens open to extensive views of the mountains to the rear. This became the perfect location for a custom fire pit and seating area. Matching the original stonework blended disparate phases of construction and gave new, useable outdoor spaces for the clients. Anna Boeschenstein acted as project manager and designer for this effort while with a previous employer, Bluegreen.
