North Garden, VIRGINIA

The Oakhurst Inn is a boutique hotel in the University of Virginia area consisting of a series of buildings and renovated houses around a historic circle. Oakhurst Hall, a historic house that had previously been used for student housing, is on the National Historic Register and the site plan was therefore subject to approval by the Department of Historic Resources and the Charlottesville Design Review Board. The renovated Oakhurst Hall will include a primary reception area and additional guest rooms. After completing the approval process, the owner worked with Grounded, Element Construction, and Town and Country Landscaping to implement the design for a new hotel pool, fire pit, outdoor grill, pizza oven, and cocktail terrace. Additionally, Grounded inventoried existing debris and invasive species among the landscape and added new native plantings.

The project is under construction, to be completed by Spring 2021 and ready for Summer 2021 guests.
