Originally a 75-acre working horse farm in Free Union, Virginia, Reas Farm is now reimagined for its future. The owner, architect Goodhouse Design and Grounded sited a new house and gardens that will take advantage of mountain views and a pond, previously obstructed but now visible thorough subtle topographical manipulations. Around the new house a drive court, meadow, rear terraces and cutting gardens will enhance the property while tree screening from the road and adjacent neighbors is underway.
Grounded is also making broader farm connections linking the pond, existing barns, woodworking shop and manager's cottage via an internal circulation system of fence lines, paths and roads.
This project breaks ground in Fall 2020.
